The 80% (four-fifths) Rule can be used to calculate Female and Minority Availability in the Complete AAP’s Availability Analysis, Utilization Summary and Annual Goals reports; and is used in the Adverse Impact Analysis to determine statistical adverse impact.

Use of the 80% Rule in the Availability Analysis, Utilization Summary and Annual Goals report will compare your current utilization of females and minorities to the total availability that is determined by the selection of factors, the weight placed on them, and the Statistical Sources selected in the Job Groups window.

Use of the 80% Rule in the Adverse Impact Analysis will determine whether the female and minority hire, termination and promotion rates is within 80% of the total number of hires, terminations and promotions in each job group.
