Software Box In most cases, the four installation types outlined will suffice for almost any company. However, if your company has specific IT security rules, The Complete AAP 12™ is fairly flexible in how it can be installed and where the data resides.

Software and Data Security

The Complete AAP 12™ has multiple features that keep both the software and the data secure.

  • Password Protected Software Access : When running the software, a password dialog is presented. This password is user-defined. The strength of the password is completely dependent upon the user. Passwords are not stored in the software (only hashes) and Yocom and McKee, Inc. does not have the ability to know the password or hash.
  • Encrypted Databases : All databases are encrypted and cannot be viewed by any software other than The Complete AAP 12™.
  • Encrypted Zip Files : Backup files created with The Complete AAP 12™ are in Zip format and are encrypted and cannot be opened by any program other than The Complete AAP 12™.
  • Encrypted PDF Files : An option is available to encrypt PDF files created by The Complete AAP 12™. By default it is off, but can be easily enabled. The password is user-definable.

Moving the Software to Another Folder or Network Share

If you don’t want the software to stay in the default location, you can use the following procedure to move it to another location on the computer or network share.

Please note that moving the software (not the data) to a network share may decrease responsiveness of the application depending on your network’s speed. Additionally, depending on where you move the software, it may not be able to auto-update itself (because of security restrictions). It is recommended to keep the software in the default location.

  1. First, make sure the software has been installed in the default location on the user’s computer.
  2. Open a File Explorer window and find the (C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\TheCompleteAAP12) folder. Alternatively, you can also right-click the Complete AAP 12 shortcut on the user’s desktop and choose “Open File Location”.
  3. Select all files and folders. (Press CTRL and A on your keyboard)
  4. Copy all files and folders. (Press CTRL and C on your keyboard)
  5. In the File Explorer window, create and navigate to a folder that you’d like the software to run from. Example: X:\My New Software Folder
  6. In the new folder, paste all files and folders that you previously copied. (Press CTRL and V on your keyboard)
  7. At this point, the software could be run by double-clicking on the “The Complete AAP 12.exe” file. We recommend updating any shortcut that is on the user’s desktop to the new location (or create a new desktop shortcut to this file.
  8. The old default folder (C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\TheCompleteAAP12) can now be deleted if you wish.
